Description

Houston’s was a “casual fine dining” restaurant that opened in 1977 on West End Ave by a trio of investors. Among the notable menu items, they offered a potent mixed drink called The Tennessee Trash that was served in a Mason jar and contained a bit of everything topped with a dash of orange juice (not to be confused with the Opryland Hotel drink of the same name). Sangria, chardonnay and Bloody Mary’s flowed regularly for the conservative leaning crowd before it closed in 2005, taking the gorgeous logo with it.

Cry not for Houston’s though, the twenty-eight year run created an empire of restaurants outside of the Nashville area under an umbrella of different names. Go hit up the Bricktop’s on West End that lives in the old Houston’s location and ask them for a mason jar filled with all their liquor to pay tribute.
