Description
Riverfront Park hosted a series of weekly free concerts every summer from 1993 to 2005 and boasted the likes of Wilco, They Might Be Giants, Emmylou Harris, and local acts like Self or Keb Mo. Locals from every age group and demographic came out to enjoy top notch people watching, sunshine and the occasional General Jackson sighting on the Cumberland. It’s hard to imagine such a gathering now that downtown is an impenetrable sea of tourists but for that special era, Nashvillians came together just to hang out… and dance (in the district).
