From 1995 to 2011, Video Culture in Murfreesboro, TN offered an impressive, wall-to-wall selection of VHS and DVDs serviced by a staff of cinephiles and film nerds. Blockbuster and Hollywood Video were running at full steam during this era but couldn’t hold a candle to the diverse collection of ole Video Culture.
Not even the “adult” area hidden behind a curtain could taint the reputation of the beloved video store. It was nicer than Clerks, not as weird as Remote Control and every bit as charming as Be Kind Rewind.
