Located in the heart of downtown (154 2nd Ave), Buffalo Billard’s was opened in 1997 and functioned as an authentic destination watering hole for locals. There was a massive circular bar, multiple tables and many regional beers on tap (a rarity for the late 90s). Surprisingly, there was a wild menu including swordfish, duck tacos and crab ham asparagus cake.
Attendees to Buffalo Billiards could get a peek at the brand new stadium being built (not the 2025 stadium, the 1999 stadium), partake in various tournaments, or simply enjoy a viewing party of Titans or Predators games.
In 2017, the bar seemed to be renamed to “Buffalo’s Billiards” and moved upstairs to the second floor where Havana Lounge previously resided. It’s all very unclear if this was a different business or not. Then the 2020 Christmas bombing left the entire building “in imminent danger of collapse.” In July of 2021, the lights were back on in the building but by 2022, it was clear it was not coming back. Currently the space is occupied by a Coyote Ugly and a new bar called Buffalo’s. Everything old is new again.
