Description
This sports bar and restaurant operated for sixty-five years; offering comfort breakfast, lunch and dinner items done in a traditional Southern manner. The Dickerson Pike staple opened in the early 1950’s as “Charlie’s Restaurant”, and got its name updated in 1972 when new owner Bob Douglas took over. It may have been a no frills dining experience but it always felt like home. Except when you were massively hungover or there were sketchy rednecks staring you down; then it felt like something else but otherwise, it felt like home.
Pay homage by eating a biscuit as you drive by the giant 5-story apartment complex at 1330 Dickerson Pike, across the street from Apple Annie’s Inn and the Tire Barn.
