Description

Not too many businesses would embrace the tagline “Eat it, Read it, and Smoke it” but Mosko’s on Elliston Place dared to be so bold. The “Muncheonette” was a deli, a newsstand and a cigar bar; making good on all three of its promises. Opened in 1977 by Cindy and Scott Moskovitz, the black-and-white checkered destination was often open late and had an unforgettable turkey sub.

Around 1999, the deli changed hands and became Rosko’s; the same in spirit but never quite the same restaurant. In 2015, Moskovitz daughter Lauren opened up “Little Mosko’s” – a spin on her parents endeavor with a focus on gluten-free options. That shop closed in 2018 but we’re still holding on to hope that it resurfaces.
