Description

In 1997, Billboard Magazine ran a cover story about the exploding music scene in Murfreesboro, TN helmed by a new indie record label named Spongebath Records. Artists Self, Fluid Ounces, The Features, C-60s, Count Bass D, Fleshpaint and others were signed to the label and their success was imminent or so said the article. History wasn’t as kind as Billboard predicted but the little indie label did manage to churn out a handful of wonderfully memorable albums.

The label closed in 2001 with a disappointing fizzle but thousands of MTSU students still carry fond memories of all the Spongebath live shows they experienced.
