At one point in time, Hillsboro Village was considered a landmark destination for Nashville. Fido, Bookman BookWoman, Bosco’s, Pancake Pantry, Jackson’s, Sam’s Sports Bar and Pangea were food and retail destinations that locals and tourists couldn’t get enough of. Among that list was Sunset Grill, a chic restaurant that served a delightful combination of high end plates and late night perfection; especially those nachos.
Opening Nov 20th 1990, Sunset Grill operated for twenty four years in the same location. They helped herald the peak appreciation of Hillsboro Village, setting the foundation for future restaurant’s and proving that the Nashville food scene had something worthwhile to offer. On New Year’s Eve 2014, they served their last plate and closed forever on Jan 1, 2015. It’s a bittersweet departure but they had a fantastic run with a long lasting legacy.
Owner Randy Rayburn deserves all the accolades and appreciation for the creation.
