Description
Located at 1888 Eastland Ave, Silly Goose was a rare bird in the Nashville restaurant scene. Opened in 2009 by chef Roderick Bailey, the original menu was a variety of lunch sandwiches made with interesting ingredients and a George Foreman grill (seriously). The space evolved into more high end and creative offerings for dinner, including a lemon and goat cheese polenta and honey-beet ice cream.
The space abruptly closed in 2015 by simply not re-opening one week with no warning, blindsiding customers and employees. A statement from Bailey stated “Life is messy and so is the restaurant business” along with an emphatic thank you to everyone who supported him.
The Silly Goose only lasted six years but it’s well remembered. Their departure made way for Graze, a casual vegan restaurant concept that’s still going strong.
